After securing a spot to play at this iconic course, there are important things to consider. First, you need to decide if you need a caddie. Take note that if you want invaluable advice and insight to conquering the Old Course, a caddie will definitely give you this. 

The Old Course is a Link Golfing course with 14 holes and plenty of space. If you want to conserve your energy for your actual swings, consider getting a trolley, which are available after 12 noon during the period of April through October.

Buggies are available on a limited basis and are only given to those with disabilities. Before the actual game, you may come earlier and do a little warm up at the practice putting area. Course Rangers are placed on the Links to help out golfers and ensure a safe and comfortable play experience.

St. Andrew's has 10 other courses also open to the public. But because of the great demand, it is very important to make reservations way in advance. Booking can be done online by visiting the organization's official website.

St. Andrews also maintains the Links Clubhouse equipped with locker rooms, toilets, showers and drying facilities. It also houses the Swilcan Restaurant, where you can enjoy a nice meal and drinks after a game. This splendid restaurant also commands a beautiful view of the Old Course.

For your shopping needs, the Club House also has a shop, which sells a wide range of golfing gear and apparel. If you think your golfing skills are not up to the standards to play at the Old Course; you can use the facility's practice center to practice.
