Florida Men’s Golf 2015 - 2016 Tournament Schedule - Second-year head coach JC Deacon and assistant coach John Handrigan announced the University of Florida men’s golf team’s 2015-16 fall, spring and postseason tournament schedules on Thursday.
For the second straight year, the Gators will open their fall season at the Carpet Capital Invitational at The Farm Golf Club in Dalton, Ga., on Sept. 11-13. The squad will then travel to compete in the Dick’s Sporting Goods Collegiate Challenge Cup, held at the Golf Club of Tennessee in Kingston Springs, Tenn., September 25-27.
The Orange and Blue will wrap up its fall season with back-to-back in-state events.
Florida will challenge the field at the Tavistock Collegiate at the Isleworth Country Club in in Windermere Oct. 18-20 before participating in its fall finale, the Florida Gulf Coast University Classic, on Oct. 25-26. In the 2014 FGCU competition at Naples’ Old Corkscrew Golf Club, A.J. Crouch captured the individual title and the Gators finished as the runner-up team.
Florida will tee off its spring season Feb. 1-2 at the Sea Best Invitational, where the Gators finished second and Crouch took home runner-up honors in 2015. Held in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., the contest will be played at TPC Sawgrass’ Dye’s Valley Course.
A few weeks later, the team returns home for the annual SunTrust Gator Invitational, held Feb. 20-21 at UF’s Mark Bostick Golf Course. Florida aims to win the squad’s only home event for the 25th time in school history and the first time since 2011.
The Gators will compete in two tournaments in March -- the Southern Highlands Collegiate at the Southern Highlands Golf Club in Las Vegas March 7-9, and the Valspar Collegiate at the Floridian Golf Club in Palm Beach, Fla., March 21-22.
The Orange and Blue will wrap up the regular season at the Mason Rudolph Championship at Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn., April 2-3.
UF will kick off postseason play by traveling to St. Simons Island, Ga., on April 15-17 for the 2016 SEC Championship. The team will be looking to capture its 16th conference title at the Sea Island Golf Club Seaside Course.
The NCAA Regional Championship will be held at six different sites May 16-18: the Ol’ Colony Golf Complex in Tuscaloosa, Ala., the Gallery Golf Club in Tuscon, Ariz., the Blackwolf Run Meadow Valley Course in Kohler, Wis., the Champ’ship Course at UNM in Albuquerque, N.M., the Karsten Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla., and the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Nashville, Tenn.
Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Ore., will host the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship May 27-June 1.
