Thankfully it didn’t last too long.” Lee started her round birding two of her first three holes before having to break in her round for a weather delay and then nosebleeds. Lee was able to keep focused Sunday and hopes to continue that focus for her remaining final four holes Monday four shots behind fellow rookie Minjee Lee. “I mean, I know four strokes is a lot,” Lee said. “I know I’m going to have to play really aggressively tomorrow. I don’t know with the conditions tomorrow, but I know I’m going to have to play aggressively for sure and take risks.”
Third-round leader Perrine Delacour began her final round with a one-shot lead, her first time leading since playing on Tour. Her inexperience playing in the final group came to light when she bogeyed three of her first six holes Sunday. Delacour sits T3 and hopes that the nerves will go away as she is playing from behind at 10-under.
“I’m so stressed,” Delacour said. “Like I was nervous at the beginning, so my putting wasn’t good...I start putting better after like the 7 when I make birdie. I make a good par on 8 and par on 9, and now it’s better. I hope to keep it tomorrow.”
“Strategy wise, I just want to play smart. Just take it as it comes and just play each shot to the best of my ability. “ - Minjee Lee, talking about her strategy for the final three holes tomorrow morning.
At the 2012 U.S. Girls Juniors, Minjee Lee beat out Alison Lee, Ariya Jutanugarn and Lydia Ko to win. The article from the event can be found here. http://usga.org/ChampEventArticle.aspx?id=21474849054
