OK I will say I was skeptical about buying this because of a lot of reviews on the internet about GPS verses a laser rangefinder. Most complain that the GPS isn't accurate etc.. I also read a lot of complaints about iGolf (which this device uses to download maps).
I absolutely love this thing. It is perfectly accurate enough for my needs. I had some issues the day I received it with trying to get iGolf to synch. I will say I almost returned it because I was so frustrated. I actually work in the IT field and me wanting to return something due to a technical issue would be extremely bad for a non-technical user. I can usually get anything working. So I decided to give it one phone call to customer support before I returned it.
I called iGolf's support number, explained my issue and the guy knew exactly what was wrong with my account (technical issue on their side that had to do with customer account creation) and had it fixed within 10 minutes. I downloaded all the courses where I live, Bay Area in CA. and took it to the courses. It is so accurate my friend with a laser rangefinder was extremely impressed (he has the pinseeker version).
I played Blackhorse in Monterey which I hadn't played before and the map function is fantastic for viewing hole layouts. The battery is flat out amazing. Took 4 hours to play Blackkorse and it had 70%+ left in the battery and I had played a 9 hole the day before with it. It stays on constantly during play, which is fantastic since you don't have to fiddle with a device to get a reading.
I was using an iphone before and the battery would die and it took a while to get a reading as I had to turn it on and get a reading. The Bushnell constantly updates and now all my golf partners want one. I give iGolf support an extremely high rating for the quick fix and professional attitude.
